How long does it take to charge an electric car?

There are three types of EV chargers available, each with varying charging time capabilities. DC fast charging is the speediest way to power up your electric car, and you can find these at public EV charging stations nearby. Level 2 chargers are also available at public stations, or you can have one installed in your garage. Level 1 EV chargers require the longest charging times but can supply your vehicle with power from any standard three-prong plug, allowing you to recover some EV range just about anywhere there's an electrical outlet. Charging times also differ between vehicles.

How much does it cost to charge an EV?

The cost to charge an electric car varies based on where and how you plug in. If you’re charging an EV at home with a Level 1 or Level 2 charger, the price is determined by your utilities cost. However, there are public electric car charging stations near Chandler, including DC fast chargers, that you may be able to take advantage of to cut your EV charging costs.

How often do you need to charge an electric car?

How often electric cars need charging depends on how frequently the vehicle is driven and local conditions. Terrain, battery age, maintenance and temperature can also influence how often EVs must be charged.

How far can an electric car go on a full charge?

There isn’t a standard EV range to reference when determining how far an electric car can go on full charge. The Chevy Silverado EV range is estimated to reach up to 400 miles, while the 2022 Bolt EV range is estimated for 259 miles. The Chevrolet Bolt EUV isn’t far behind with an estimated 247-mile range. The all-new Chevy Blazer EV will be able to travel an estimated 320 miles on a single charge, while the new GMC HUMMER EVs offers over 300 miles on a full charge.
